SIB mulls Police Bay proposals - 29.07.06
With the July 15 deadline for tender bids for hotel developments at Police Bay come and gone the Seychelles Investment Bureau (SIB) has announced that a number of bids are being considered.
Adverts offering a 94.9 hectare plot centred around the secluded south Mahe beach and including the current Grand Police prison site were run in Seychelles Nation in late March of this year, giving potential investors three and a half months to submit their bids.
The closing date for submissions for the site, parcel number T575, passed two weeks ago and SIB officials are now in the process of assessing the bids that came in.
“We are analysing the bids…there is a process in place,” SIB chief Joseph Nourrice told Seychelles Nation, on Friday, although he declined to give further details for reasons of client confidentiality.
The adverts placed by SIB were pitched at investors interested in constructing an, “integrated tourism development,” which would, “as far as possible offer a Seychelles feel….take into account the topography, vegetation and natural features of the site and blend into the natural environment of the area.”
